David Carroll

Naturalist-artist David Carroll is the author-illustrator of four acclaimed nature books; Year of the Turtle, Trout Reflections, Swamp Walker's Journal, and Self Portrait with Turtles. Swampwalker's Journal was awarded the distinguished John Burroughs Medal for literary excellence and scientific accuracy.

David is a graduate of the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts and Tufts University. He has received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of New Hampshire. and an honorary Masters in Environmental Science from new England College. His art and writing along with his extensive field work have been widely recognized and featured by Yankee Magazine and the Boston Globe, as well as documentaries on NBC's "Sunday Today."

David is an active lecturer and turtle/wetlands advocate. He and his wife, Laurette, live in Warner, New Hampshire.
