Welcome to Our Gallery
The Gallery at Well Sweep occupies a beautiful barn in historic Hillsborough Center. Originally owned and operated as an antique shop by Edith Withington-Kyle the barn still reverberates with her personality. Foremost among these reminders is the massive fieldstone fireplace reaching from the brick hearth to the ceiling rafters. Engraved on a small cement marker set in the hearth, is the date 1937, along with a drawing of the well sweep outside.

Bob Lint and Jane Pinel (Lint) purchased the property in October of 2002. The concept of a gallery evolved from the many fine paintings and etchings which they had collected as well as their interest in art. Bob is a photographer and Jane, a potter.
Bob was born and raised in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania. He was in the Navy 1945 and '46. After attending the University of West Virginia he followed a career as a Plastics Engineer and Technical Service Representative, finally retiring from Rohm and Haas Company in the early 80's. A collector of fine art, the gallery is a perfect post retirement career for Bob.
Jane, a native of Braintree, Massachusetts, attended Thayer Academy in Braintree then Cornell University where she majored in Psychology. After raising her two daughters she went back to obtain her Masters Degree in Counseling at the University of New Hampshire. She was the founder and publisher of Wellspring Magazine, a publication for those professionals who work with children. During those years at home she became a potter and painter, which fits in perfectly with a gallery.
Opening on Memorial Day weekend. Check our "Events" page for special events.
